Integrating new and meaningful results of stress research into workplace health management is a priority goal of the research institute daacro with its affiliated Stress Center Trier. The psychobiologists include mental and physical processes in their lectures, workshops and (telephone-) coaching in the companies. A combination of innovative diagnostics and classical psychological concepts promotes the understanding of disease-relevant aspects of chronic stress. This easily understandable knowledge represents a good basis for individualized measures in health prevention.

The 6th medtech Rhineland-Palatinate offered an ideal forum to present new methods of stress diagnostics on May 30, 2018 in Mainz. Particular attention was paid to salivary diagnostics and the stress hormone cortisol. For as easy as the collection of saliva samples is, so important is the choice of appropriate measurement times and so complex is the interpretation of the results.

The stress profile BASIC is the latest biomarker kit of the research institute daacro. The stress profile can take into account up to 8 saliva samples. These can either be used exclusively for cortisol measurements on one or two days or additionally include for example melatonin as a biomarker for sleep analysis. Laboratory manager Anne Dubberke’s team was represented by lab technician Selina Cirillo at the trade exhibition accompanying the medtech event.
