2026 is a very special year for DAACRO as we celebrate our 20th anniversary as a contract research organization.
Over the past two decades, we have grown together with our partners and clients, successfully supporting numerous projects and contributing to the development of innovative solutions. There is no better place to celebrate this milestone than Vitafoods – one of the industry’s key global gatherings for exchange, innovation, and networking.

Vitafoods provides the perfect platform to explore current trends, gain new insights, and connect with both long-standing and new partners.
Let’s take the opportunity to meet in person – we look forward to inspiring conversations on site!

The 42nd Annual Congress of the German Society for Pharmaceutical Medicine (DGPharMed) featured a diverse program covering current topics in clinical research and brought together leading experts from across the field.
Dr. Juliane Hellhammer actively contributed to the congress: she chaired the session “Biosimilar Development: New FDA and EMA Regulation Are a Paradigm Shift After 20 Years of Biosimilars”, participated in the round table “Women in Leadership”, and delivered a scientific presentation on “Sleep Under Observation: Opportunities and Side Effects of Modern Wearables”.

This year’s congress featured a diverse and highly relevant program, highlighting key developments and challenges in clinical research – ranging from regulatory changes to innovative technologies. The intensive professional exchange and interdisciplinary perspectives made the event a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and networking.
We are pleased to have been part of this important industry event and to contribute to the professional exchange.

Health doesn’t happen by chance. It’s built on knowledge, collaboration, and trust in science. This year’s World Health Day theme highlights exactly that: Together for health. Stand with science. It’s a reminder that real progress in health happens when data, technology, and expertise come together.
At daacro, we contribute to this mission: Every study, every data point, and every collaboration helps generate the evidence needed to develop safe and effective treatments.

Because:
•    Medical progress starts with research.
•    Reliable data is the foundation of better therapies.
•    Advancing health requires strong partnerships.
Today is a reminder of why our work matters – and why standing with science is more important than ever.

Under the leadership of Dr. Juliane Hellhammer and Franziska Schmitt (DGPharMed Southwest Meet-Up Leads), we welcomed around 50 engaged participants to the 44th Meet-Up of the German Society for Pharmaceutical Medicine (DGPharMed). Hosted at the office of AMS (Advanced Medical Services, Mannheim), attendees followed with great interest the presentation by Christoph Ortland (Forschungsdock CRO GmbH).
The focus of the evening was vendor management – particularly in light of the current changes related to the R6 revision of the E3 Guideline. Special attention was given to the key responsibility of sponsors in selecting and overseeing service providers.

Our sincere thanks go to Dr. Harald Wagner (AMS) for the warm welcome and to Dr. Kirsten Dam (AMS) for the excellent organizational support.
The evening was marked by lively discussions, valuable exchanges, and great networking opportunities—both during the breaks and after the presentation.
We are already looking forward to the upcoming events!

World Sleep Day highlights the essential role of sleep for our health and well-being.
Sleep is more than recovery. During sleep, our brain processes information, regulates stress responses, and supports essential cognitive functions.
At daacro, we investigate these connections in clinical trials. Our research explores how lifestyle factors and nutritional interventions – such as dietary supplements – may influence sleep, stress responses, cognitive performance, and overall well-being.

Understanding these interactions is key to developing evidence-based approaches that support well-being, mental performance, and health in everyday life.

Organized by the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) and Pharma Deutschland, the summit brought together leading experts from science, industry, and regulatory authorities.

The clear message:
Herbal medicinal products are of significant medical and economic importance – yet they face growing regulatory challenges. Discussions covered HMPC experience, health economic data, the distinction from food supplements, and future perspectives in the OTC sector. The “Market Booths” further showcased innovation potential and the strategic relevance of the European market.

Our key takeaway:
The future of herbal medicinal products will be evidence-based – otherwise, market access and long-term competitiveness will become increasingly challenging.
Regulatory expectations are rising, while solutions must remain economically viable. What is needed is smart, strategic evidence planning. This is precisely where we see our role: at the intersection of scientific rigor, regulatory feasibility, and practical implementation – collaborating closely with our partners.

This year’s Food Ingredients Europe 2025 in Paris gave daacro two exciting days to connect with partners, customers, and industry peers.

Our focus areas – probiotics, dietary fibers, and botanicals were in the spotlight, highlighting their growing role in stress, sleep, cognition, and the gut–brain axis.

Through robust study designs, we translate scientific insights into practical solutions, helping our partners develop novel, evidence-based products for the growing functional food and nutraceutical market.

The FiE reinforced the value of close collaboration.

We look forward to continuing our work in 2026, exploring the full potential of probiotics, fibers, and botanicals to support holistic health and well-being.

Food Ingredients Europe is the global meeting point for key players in the food industry – and this year, we are celebrating 30 years of Food Ingredients in Paris!

Join us from December 2 to 4, 2025, to explore the latest trends, initiate new collaborations, or learn more about our expertise in clinical research with a special focus on stress, sleep, and cognition.

From October 28–30, CPHI will once again bring together key players from across the global pharmaceutical industry in Frankfurt. It’s the perfect place to explore the latest innovations, exchange ideas on emerging trends, and build valuable partnerships along the pharmaceutical value chain.

Dr. Juliane Hellhammer (CEO) will be attending – we’d be delighted to arrange a meeting in advance. We look forward to connecting with you!

The results of an exploratory study conducted by daacro have been published in the journal Nutrition and Dietary Supplements.
The study investigated a combination product containing tryptophan, magnesium, Melissa officinalis, and Lactuca sativa to support sleep. A 14-day intake led to improvements in subjective sleep quality – especially among participants with higher anxiety levels – as well as positive effects on daytime tiredness, mood, and cognitive performance.

While the study was open-label and without a placebo control, such investigations provide valuable first insights into potential efficacy. The full article can be downloaded here:
